Paula Alice Rippa, age 73, died on April 7, 2022, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Paula was born in Bayonne, NJ, and lived in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Mike before moving to Brick 50 years ago. Paula worked as a medical transcriptionist at Ocean Medical Center for over 25 years. She also had a real estate license and a gift for interior design, which she used to flip houses. Paula’s entrepreneurial spirit contributed to her becoming a small business owner with her husband and son. Of greatest importance to Paula was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to taking care of and supporting her family. She was the caregiver for her father, mother, and uncle prior to their deaths. Paula enjoyed cruising, playing cards, going to dinner, trips to Atlantic City and spending time with her family.
Paula is predeceased by her brother Frank David Esposito and her sister Lenore Greene. Surviving is her loving husband of 53 years Michael Rippa; her sons Michael Rippa of Brick, NJ and James Rippa and his wife Karen of Florida; her daughter Nicole Cannon and her husband Matthew of Wall Township, NJ; her eight grandchildren Ryan, Aiden, Justin, Madison, Rocco, Marco, Nicolas and Matteo as well as her sisters Frances Garbos of Jackson, NJ and Alyce Anderson and her husband Glenn of Toms River, NJ; her brothers-in-law George Green and Gary Rippa, and sisters-in-law Barbara Rippa and Cheryl Rippa, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnephews.
Viewing hours will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 4-8pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 11:30am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery.
