Karen Thompson Obituary
Karen was a 1966 graduate of Southwood High School, and a graduate of Manchester College. She married Ballard Thompson in Wabash on May 18, 1968. She was a telephone operator for General Telephone in Wabash 17 years. Karen was a member of the Asbury Country Church. She enjoyed drawing, window shopping, and visiting with people.
She is survived by her husband, Ballard Thompson of Wabash; two daughters, Angela M. (Daniel) Fleshood of Kokomo, Indiana, and Tricia L. Shidler of Wabash; six grandchildren, Tabetha E. Tyler, Taylor M. Shidler, and Jason Shidler, all of Wabash, Daniel Fleshood Jr., Serenity Fleshood, and Jozilynn Fleshood, all of Kokomo; great-grandson, Demerries Dunson of Wabash, two sisters, Colleen (Greg) Gatzimos-Reed of Wabash, and Coral Kirby of Indianapolis, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be at 2 pm, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Asbury Country Church, located at the intersection of Dora Road and 200 E., Wabash, with Pastor Mike Bullick officiating. As per Karen's request, she will be cremated. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
Preferred memorial is Asbury Country Church.

I remember all the fun times we had at Ot Speicher's home for the Speicher get togethers. My grandmother Alice Speicher Eppley was a cousin of Ot's. We will miss Karen. Sincerely, Herman and Sue Behrends

My memories of Karen are of attending church at Asbury as children and teenagers. The Kirby family had deep roots in the church.
