Zdzislaw LEPIONKA Obituary
ZdzisÅ?aw Józef (Eric):
Born in Waniów, Lwów, on 14 July 1936, third son of the late Józef and Anna Lepionka Poland, one of 733 Polish children who arrived in New Zealand on 1 November 1944. ZdzisÅ?aw passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his family, on 22 August 2022. Dearly beloved and devoted husband of Halina for 60 years, adored father of Anna, Wanda and David, Stefan and Caroline, Teresa and Richard; cherished grandfather of Monika, Justyna, Adriana, Kristjan, Lara, Charles, Amelia, Louis, Józef, Tessa, Richard and Sebastien, and treasured great-grandfather to Yasmine, Lylia, Kloé, and Enzo. Loved brother of Wanda Jankowska, brother of Józef (dec), Tadeusz (dec), and Jan (dec), and uncle to all his nieces and nephews in Poland and New Zealand. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance (wfa.org.nz/donate) or Mary Potter Hospice (marypotter.org.nz/donate) would be appreciated. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Anthony's Church, Falkirk Avenue, Seatoun, on Friday 26 August at 12.00pm, thereafter burial at Makara Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at the church prior to the Requiem Mass at 11.30am.

Szanowna Rodzino Lepionka.
Z wielkim smutkiem uslyszalem o smierci Zdzislawa i loncze sie bolesnym zalem z wami ze jusz jego nie ma.
Spotkalem Zdislawa w Seatoun, zaraz przed "Covid-19 Zamknjecia" i mielismy krutka rozmowe, i to jest ostatni raz jak jego widzialem. Pamientam go z przyjemnoscia z Obozu Pahiatua i mjalem zamiar znow uszukac jego w Domu Ploskim w Wellingtonie po Covid. Ale na njestety to juz nie mozliwe!
Raz jeszcze dziele sje zalem z cala wasza rodzina.

Dear family Lepionka, i can only imagine what you have all been through and know how much your husband, dad , dziadzio and pra dziadzio will be missed. He was all the things you said in church and more. I have images of the young sportsman Zdzislaw at the Polish picnics and later working with my dad where there was always mutual respect and a strong foundation of humanity. I had the privilege of sitting on the committee when he was president. It was a pleasure to help him acheive his goals and experience his leadership. We have all been blessed by him in so many ways. Kia Kaha and be sure that his memory and legacy will endure. Rest in Peace Zdzislaw.
