Winifred McKELLAR Obituary

QSM Passed away peacefully at Ranui Home, Alexandra on February 2, 2024; aged 103. A musician and talented, fun-loving woman; now at rest. Dearly loved daughter of the late Charles and Ellen, and sister of the late Ian, dearly loved Aunt of Peter and Ann McKellar (Rotorua), Helen and John Williamson (Alexandra) and Donald and Catherine McKellar (Christchurch), and loved great-Aunt. Thanks to Yvette Williams and Ranui Rest Homes for their kindness and care. A service to celebrate Honor's life will be held in St John's Anglican Church, 373 Highgate, Roslyn, Dunedin, at 1.30pm, on Saturday, February 10 ,followed by private cremation. I didn´t know Honor well myself but I observed how well she connnected to her niece and nephews and then to the grand nieces and nephews particularly when their studies took them to Dunedin. I knew my Uncle Ian, Honor´s brother better, and can only think that the the love of life they each had was a family trait. My love to the family as they celebrate Honor´s wonderful life today and special greetings from Barbara Ker-Mann in Auckland - from Christine Jelleyman

Dear Honor you were a wonderful musician and a fun loving friend. It was lovely to attend concerts and watch your joy when Sir Willard White awarded your Jonathan the RCM gold medal.
We enjoyed great concerts together.
Rest in peace after your wonderful life of sharing your love of music with others.
