I have learnt of Bill´s passing with sadness.
We were fellow students at the University of Canterbury´s Engineering School in the 1960s and for a short while after graduating in 1969 we flatted together on the end of The Terrace in Wellington. Those were Bill´s first days with NZR. I saw him only once since, about 8 years ago, and he was the Bill just as I remembered him.
He was a special character and I remember him with respect and affection.
I send my condolences to Sue and the family.

Condolences to Bill's family. He was a man of integrity and values. Bill always had time for people and happily shared his knowledge and experience. He will be sadly missed.

Condolences to Bill's family.
I worked with Bill starting way back in late 1975 at NZ Railways until he left and then worked with him again from mid 2003 when I joined LTSA. He was both on the team with us and continued in a working relationship during his time with Connex/Veolia in Auckland.
Certainly a lot of good memories of those times. RIP Bill.
