We have had the pleasure to have known Toru for the past 17years and 15years ago our families were joined by the marriage of our daughter Sharleen to James. We will miss the family celebrations which always lead to discussions about Rugby Racing and the odd drink or 2. Love to everyone Warren Marie and Darryl

To the John w'anau - I'm Ian Haldane, an old workmate of Skylabs in the 70's n 80's. I am deeply saddened to hear of my bros passing and to pass my condolences to you at your loss and grief right now. TJ's smile that would light up any day, no matter how cold or windy it was. He was an irrepressibly cheerful man with his Kuki Arani run mates, Bobby Tamariki, Jim Strickland and Nooroa Matapuku.

The photoI have here is one of him in the foreground of one of our many union meetings. Plus photos of Chris Ryab, Barney Pikari, Babe Korau and Bruce Nelson on the Kandhallah run. Then one of Tere Cameron, Pure Taramai and Michel Fowelder, then then mayor of Wellington.

Great days and staunch as brothers.

We were all brothers. I will dearly miss him

1Thessalonions 4: 16-17. (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,to meet the Lord in the air:and so shall we ever be with Lord.
