Stefania ZAWADA Obituary

The parishioners of St Brigids Church Pahiatua prayed for Stefania at Mass last Sunday. She and Josef kept the Pahiatua/Polish connection alive. A lovely lady.
The Polish Childrens' Camp has lost another saint. Stay well, Josef.

Pani Stefa, a beautiful gentle loving lady. We remember how welcoming Pani and Pan Zawada were, when we were on holiday in Wellington. We will never forget you. Two wonderful people.

My heartfelt condolences to Joseph Zawada. Wishing you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

I was sorry to hear of aunt Stefa passing, who always had a positive outlook on life. I offer my deepest condolences to uncle Joseph Zawada and his children.

Our names are Maria (Kosnik) Bercinskas (Island Bay) and Wanda Watola (Keri Keri). Long time friends from Pahiatua (the same class). Our deepest condolences to the family as Stefania was not only a good friend but part of the Pahiatua family, and a truely wonderful person. God bless.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Zawada and Sondej families for the loss of one of most incredibly special and beautiful ladies that we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. We have been lucky to have Pani Zawada entwined in our lives for all of our lives through the close friendship that our parents shared, and later the friendship of you all through the Polish community. We know our parents held a special place in their hearts for all of you, and we know that feeling between our parents was reciprocated. There are certain people in your life that leave a mark just because of the genuine person that they are inside and out, Pani Zawada was one of those people, she will be missed by all of us, but never forgotten. We hope that you gain strength from each other to get through this difficult time, we are thinking of you all.

So hard to say "goodbye" to some-one who touched our hearts so deeply. We will miss you terribly but you will live forever in our hearts and memories.

My deepest condolences to the Sondej and Zawada families. Our families have known each other for 80 years. Mrs Zawada had done a lot for the Polish community with her efforts at the Elsdon youth camps and teaching Polish language classes. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
