Sir Ian Charles ATHFIELD Obituary

ATHFIELD, Sir Ian Charles (Ath):
Died at Wellington Hospital on Friday 16 January 2015, aged 74 years, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Clare, father and father-in-law of Jesse and Xia Li, Zac and Sarah, brother of Tony, and grandfather of Lilly, Isla, Phoebe, Tommy and Sylvie. All who knew Ath will be deeply saddened by the passing of this great and wonderful man. Architect, builder, gardener, family man, raconteur, friend; Ath was a man of wisdom, vision, humility and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted for a Trust to be set up in Ath's name. Contributions and pledges can be made either at the service, or by contacting Rachel Griffiths at [email protected]. Messages can be sent to the family via [email protected] or to 105 Amritsar Street, Khandallah, Wellington 6035. Family and friends of Ath are invited to a funeral service to be held at 1pm on Friday 23 January 2015, at 105 Amritsar Street, Khandallah. (Amritsar Street will not be available for parking. A memorial service to celebrate Ath's life will be held shortly, and the details for this will be available on www.facebook.com\IanAthfield.
