Simon HAVILL Obituary

Passed suddenly on Friday 17th May 2024, while out walking with his loving partner Jennie Turner. He will be missed by his children, Benjiman and Courtney, his partner, Jennie, his friends, and his beloved dog, Frankie, who all loved him so much. Simon's love for his building work, boating, fishing, bridge and lawn bowls touched all who knew him. He was passionate about his volunteer work at the Ronald McDonald House, which was a cause that was close to his heart – any contributions to this charity in his memory would be appreciated. Messages may be left in Simon's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz A private family funeral will be held. A celebration of Simon's life will be held at the Silverstream Bowling Club, 37 Dunns Street, Silverstream, on Saturday 25 May 2024 at 2.00pm for friends and family to come together to celebrate his life and share memories.

Our sincere sympathies to Courtney and Ben, and Jenny.
I have fond memories of first meeting and working with Simon in the mid nineteen eighties.
As new Kiwis, we always found Simon and Jill to be very supportive and they welcomed us into their home regularly. Simon has always remained a good and constant friend over the years. He was a true gentleman, and we will miss his visits to our depot dearly.

Having known Simon through business for around 30 years, reading of his sudden passing has come as a huge shock.
Simon will be remembered for his larger than life personality, always enthusiastic, cheerful and positive, and he will be sadly missed.
Condolences to Simon´s family and loved ones.

Simon was a beautiful man with a heart of gold. He was a huge part of our Camping Family for many years. He was with my late husband Ian Hammington a swimmer of the Polar Bear Club whether it rained or shone, while we were away on our camping holidays. He has now joined the Polar Bear Club up high and I'm sure Ian will be very happy to see him. Courtney, Ben and Jennie my sincere sadness at Simons passing is also full of many happy memories. With the love of friends and family I hope this will carry you during your grief. Kerry Hammington Xx
