Simon HANBURY-SPARROW Obituary

I met Simon briefly when in Sydney having surgery and remained in touch by email. I can sense the feelings of loss you must all be experiencing. I loved our chats, I wish we could have done more. RIP Simon.

I knew Simon in a professional relationship. A lovely guy, full of integrity. This is sad news. Taken too young.

It was our pleasure to have Simon included in our family for the years that we did. What a gentle sole. My heart goes out to Marina, Robert and Anya and the rest of the family. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Young Simon arrived suddenly on a 2am Alaska Ferry. He filled our lives with gladness and heartfelt friendship. Though he travelled far, we were never far apart. Sending each member of his beloved family our love and sympathy.

They say the good ones go first, well thats certainly true in this case. Simon it was so good to catch up with you at parnet teachers, who would have thought 44 years ago when we were trying to fit 10 people into Mark Morrisons mini that we would have met up again at parnet teachers with beautiful girls at the same school. My wife, Penny, my daughter, Olivia, and I came to know Simon through his battle with cancer. Our friendship quickly developed. We enjoyed his candour, his humour, his insight, his tenacity, and, above all, the love for his family that he continually demonstrated. We will miss you, Simon!
Our thoughts and wishes are with Marina and their children as they contend with their sad loss.

Simon I treasure our friendship we shared,even though it was only for a short time.I will miss our conversations and debates.

The many memories of muddy Sundays riding bikes still seem fresh, no one could ride up hills like Simon, great conversations covering every topic, always an energy for solving problems and putting things to right. We'll miss you my friend. Love from us all
