So sorry to hear this news. I have fond memories of the Steere family during my teenage years in Lower Hutt. RIP Shirley. May your family find the strength to support each other and may they enjoy fond memories of past times that you all shared together.

So sorry to hear of Shirleys passing. I knew her from Kapiti Red Hatters. She was Red Hat Queen I think for some years. Lots of fun shared!

Dear Dick & family,
What a busy life Shirley enjoyed with nursing, raising 3 sons, achieving an HR degree at Massey, Nursing Supervisor and looking after a busy ED department for 10 years, HR Manager Nursing and in 1994 being a very fair Nurse Manager for 10 years, finally retiring from Hutt Hospital in 2004. You were so talented with your crafts (knitting, needlework, quilting, crochet) and then moving to Kapiti Coast after your holiday home extension in 1999. You enjoyed swimming in beach, playing croquet and joining the Red Hats. Thank you for always inviting us to your bbqs and celebrations. You worked part time in Team Medical in Paraparaumu and finally retired in 2014 after another 10 year period. What a commitment to helping others, caring and being dedicated. You will be fondly remembered and I have fun memories of great times. RIP Shirley xx
