Shirley NALDER Obituary

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 16 March 2024, aged 89 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Don. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Les & Sandi, Rob & Debbie, and Alison & Chris. Treasured Nanna of Julie, Mike, Joel, Travis, Aidan, Kelsi, and their partners, and great-grandmother to her 7 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to the staff at Kapiti Rest Home for the care provided to Shirley. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mary Potter Hospice would be appreciated and can be made online at marypotter.org.nz. A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held in the Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9-11 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu, on Thursday, 21 March 2024 at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation.

To all of Shirley's family, I send my condolences.
I met Shirley on our very first day at Wellington Girls College, 1947, so we go back a long way in time. We were great friends and kept in touch by letter all the years she lived in Gisborne. I remember Shirley's Mum and Dad well, as we were always welcome in each other's homes. Shirley was a well-known and loved member of the Kapiti community and will be remembered with much affection. With fond memories.

Our condolences to Shirley´s family. Shirley was such a friendly and helpful lady when we first arrived in Kapiti, always a welcoming smile and interested in what was happening with the children and our border collie pup ( we exchanged notes on that!)
