Very sad to hear the passing of Roy.
My condolances to Renate and their children and grandchildren.
A truely lovely man whom i will always be indebted to. I joined NZ Safety in 1983 through an aquisition.
Roy inspired all who worked for NZ Safety to continue to build the company from those who went before and do the right thing for NZ. Roys ethics were beyond reproach and you just wanted to suceed for this man. I was privaleged to attend Roys induction to the NZ Business Hall of Fame a in 2010, great recognition for a true gentleman doing the right thing for NZ.

To the Family of my cousin Roy Savage. Please accept my sincere condolences and sympathy, our prayers are with you all at this time of loss. The last time I was with Roy was at the Rasmussen family reunion in Hamilton around 2005. Many times I remember visiting Wellington as a young boy to stay with Roy's family... this was in the mid 1950's. I remember it so well as Roy's father would always take us to visit the Griffins Biscuit factory to watch them making Ginger Nuts.(And get a sample)
As a young boy I was keen on collecting stamps, one day I was given a health stamp with two young children sitting on a swing.
When I showed my mother she said they are your cousins Roy and his sister. Dear family my sincere and heartfelt love to you all.

So saddened to hear of my cousin Roy's departure from this life. We last had a meal together in the early 2000's in Wellington. He spoke very fondly of his visits to our family home in Palmerston North and particularly my mum, his Aunty Irene. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. My condolences to Renate and their children and grandchildren.

I used to play tennis at his lovely home in Karori and Roy and Renata were unfailingly welcoming and charming. I expect my boisterous kids could be a pain during those times but there were never any complaints and it was a wonderful routine for the week.

My condolences to a lovely family.

My deepest sympathy to Mrs Savage & family.

Mr Savage, yes, always Mr Savage to me as I held the utmost respect for this truely gentle kind generous & humble man. Mr Savage gave me an exciting opportunity to work for one of his companies. I remember fondly always checking the row of figures three times on the calculator before submitting as he was able to add them up in his head, Margaret, he would say in his gentle voice, you are one cent out.!! What an amazing mind this lovely man had.
Thank You Mr Savage for the guidance and advice you freely offered me along the way which showed the big heart that he had.
I will miss our little enlightening conversations.
You Were "Simply The Best." and I am a richer person for knowing you.
RIP. Will miss you. Margaret.

the O'Brien family is very sad to hear of Roy's passing, the kindness he showed my late father Terry O'Brien was second to none, a true friend and someone who Dad only had kind words for throughout his working life. Our thoughts are with Renate and the Savage family in this difficult time.
