SANDERSON, Ronald Bond:
On 19 May 2019. Peacefully at the Woburn Enliven Home & Hospital, aged 94 years. Dearly loved husband and soulmate of the late Heather. Much loved father & father-in-law of Mary-Rose & Malcolm Hammond, Malcolm & Mary, Clyde & Linda, and Alistair & Gaylene. Beloved grandfather & great-grandfather of his 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and their families. Respected member of the Masonic Lodge for 75 years. Grateful thanks to the staff of the Woburn Enliven Home & Hospital for their care and support. A service for Ron will be held the St James Anglican Church, 71 Woburn Road, Lower Hutt, on Monday 27th May 2019, at 2.00pm, thereafter interment at Taita Cemetery.

I remember Ronnie, the person who, in the late 1960's, drove the whole of his family from Lower Hutt to Whangarei to spend a few fleeting hours with his Godson who was in port on a tanker, a round trip of about 1000 miles (1600km). Ronnie who took part in Arctic convoys, and then made a new life for himself in New Zealand. Brother to George and Ivy, he was the last of his generation, sadly gone, but certainly not forgotten.

Very sorry to hear of Ron's passing. He was a very supportive friend to my Dad, Peter Pidd and we have fond memories of Ron (and Heather) at Peter's 80th. Our best wishes to Ron's family at this very sad time.
