Robert John (Bob):
19.12.1941 â?? 15.10.2021
A strong loving family man, community-spirited, caring and generous. Bob was formerly a teacher at Newton School and South Wellington Intermediate (SWIS). He passed away peacefully at Wellington Hospital, aged 79. Beloved father and father-in-law of Danny, Eileen, Audrey, Colin, Marty, and Jenny. Adored grandpa of his many grandchildren. Brother of Jim, David, and Jenny. A memorial function will be held at 4.30pm on Monday 18 October at South Wellington Intermediate School Hall, Rintoul Street, to celebrate Bob's life.

A man with an interesting past. Very helpful with the Bourke Family History and it is unfortunate that I did not get to meet him in person. We exchanged information by email.
To all Bob's family I extend my deepest sympathy and Best Wishes.

Our deepest sympathy to all Bob's Family. Such a wonderful, caring person. Always had time for everyone,including the young ones. Our children remember him so very fondly
as "Mr Waters" who taught with their Dad, the late Peter Thompson, at SWIS.
Special thoughts and fondest memories.

Bob Waters was to me an outstanding teacher (1976) and simply a marvellous person: Strong and honest in his views (which were not always shared!), constructive, kind and humourful.
A treasure.
I am so glad to have taken the chance again in July to thank him for being in my life.

Saddened to hear of Bobs death, a local identity that will be missed.
