Robert Douglas Bruce (Bob):
On January 29, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by family; aged 85 years. Dearly loved husband of Joy for 65 years. Treasured father and father-in-law of Chris & Christine, Carolyn, Mark, and Lisa. Beloved Grandad of Sarah, Rebecca, Katie, Craig, Michelle, Brooke, and Jacob. Adored Great-Grandad of Thomas, Alex, Bella, Oliver, Ellie, Wolf, Oskar and Baby Andrews. Loved baby brother of Carl, Sam, Meta, Ted, Con, Vic, Jim, Joye, Ian and Bill. Loved brother-in-law of Bob and Anne. Best mate of Jodie. Special thanks to Te Omanga Hospice and Wellington Free Ambulance. In accordance with Bob's wishes, a private family service has been held. Hi dad,
Well we spent heaps of time together over the last two years.
I was really happy that you were able to relax more here at home and that you enjoyed living here so much.
I will always remember you telling me that I was a champion and how you couldn't manage without me.
I am incredibly happy that we could give you your wish to be at home at the end and that mum, lisa, sarah, rebecca and myself were with you when you left.
The day after we said our last goodbye,
Katie had a baby boy.
His name is charlie.
I'm sure you will watch over your 8 adored great grandchildren.
All my love dad.
Will catch up with you one day.

Are you keeping out of trouble?
I learned so much about myself from you. You believed in love and being good to people, I will carry that with me. So steadfast and reliable, especially when I was on my own raising Thomas.
You are your mother's son and your father's son, and I hope you are having a great time with them.
I will forever be proud to call you my grandad. Until we meet again, I love you xx
