Regrettably I have only learned of Bob's passing. A great teacher and cricket and football lover. I can recall his trip to Russia in the very early 1960's, something seldom done in those days. Is Rosemary still living ?

Saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Bob introduced me to the true meaning of the word "run". Seatoun Park Tuesday nights training. Off in a wet howling southerly to the airport runway. Stopping for a barrage of pressups and star jumps. Or the Massey Memorial. Never wanted to be a Sherpa but up that bloody hill we'd run. Hardly saw a football until Saturday. Then I'd be too tired to kick it. Thanks for the memories me old mate. Blue and Blue forever.

RIP Robert

Time for a rest my man!!You have fought the good fight and have left a legacy few can match. Your wit and wisdom demonstrated an uncanny ability to balance disarming humor with serious scholarship; compelling all of us to reflect critically on our avocation and serve our learners.Forrest Crawford(Former SG.2008-12)

Bob the historian treasured enduring words so I thank everyone for your kind broadcasts, articles, posts, emails, whatsapps and written messages. To be remembered this way was always Dad's wish, rather than receiving flowers on his passing, so I thank you all.

A dear friend moved on but always remembered fondly in so many ways including his not to be matched world record in providing 409 prospective teachers opportunity to explore the world of education through student teaching placements in his home country - New Zealand. A legacy that continues to expand as they teach their students.

Rest well Bob. Fondly remembered by Wainuiomata cricket folk as a player, coach and an expert in bending our ears. Also well remembered by two generations of the Ross family who had the privilege of playing with him.
