I remember Bob well as Bunty's much loved brother.
I always enjoyed my brief encounters with him over many years, often at Bunty's.
Much love to you all at this sad time .

It was very saddening to note Bob's passing, his great age notwithstanding. He was an absolute gentleman, a great civil servant, a highly competent author and a wonderful pianist. There will very unlikely be another like him. Rest in peace Bob.

Kathryn Ryan called you a national treasure Bob. She was spot on. One of the last of the post-war, nation-building Mohicans, whose legacy is all around us. Thank you for patiently answering my endless questions about those years. You will be sorely missed. Condolences to the family.

A great man, who led life to the full. His achievements were admirable over along life. I enjoyed his company at Kapiti Kaleidoscope. If a speaker failed to arrive on time, Bob would be on his feet in a second. An excellent raconteur and singer!
