Bob Fox was the first cousin of my father, the late Michael David Callander. Bob gifted me a copy of his book about our ancestry. He tended our family graves in the Taita Christ Church cemetery. May I offer my condolences to his family and friends.

So sad to hear of Bob's passing. Great memories from Evg Post days. Used to have a chat with him down at Maidstone Park watching the local rugby. Best wishes and condolences from Dave Morrell, ex Post Compositor.

While remembering Bob Fox I think of the men who very capably wrote, pictured, depicted and broadcast deeds performed on the old Athletic Park on Rintoul Street, Newtown. Bob was one of a special breed of characters among whom, over the years of 'The Park's' existence were Joseph Zachariah, Robbie Robson, Charlie Boyer, Jack Murphy, Charlie Bergman, Hall Raine, Stan McEwen, Rex Hornblow, Arthur Swan, Arthur Carman, Peter Sellers, Winston McCarthy, Charlie Lamberg, Fred Boshier, Claude King, Sir Terry McLean, Graeme Jenkins, Neville Lodge, Merv Griffiths, Alan Paterson, George Kaye, Jack Short, Bill Hopper, Hoddy Hodson, Merv Elias, Bob Smith, Frank Dyer, Barry Durrant, Morrie Hill, Ian Mackley, Don Roy, Ron Palenski, Lindsay Knight, Gabriel David, Brian Russ, John Howson, Keith Quinn, Grant Nisbett, Gavin Service, Brent McDonald, Barry Hawkins, David Ogilvie, Phil Campbell, Ian Gault, Paul Elenio, John McBeth, Ross Bond, Martin Hunter, Graham Moody, Ken Laban, Jack Richards, Peter Bush and the doyen of Athletic Park journalists Alex Veysey. You played an 80-minute, fun-filled game Bob. See you at the after-match.
