Sadly, I was unable to get down to Bob's funeral, to hear the stories and celebrate his life. .. And to be with you Robinne and family. Judith was there on our behalf and she rang yesterday recounting the tributes. Farewell Bob and our love to you all at this time of big loss.

A dear and wise old friend who left a 'writing guide' at the ministry to promote writing with clarity. An avid golfer who traversed the hills of the Karori Golf Club. A big fan of fresh Seafood, Bridge, and the All Blacks. Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever. I offer my condolences to Robinne and the family.

In fond memory of my great friend and fellow journalist. We met as young reporters, Gisborne Herald and Daily Telegraph in 1957 and the friendship never flagged.. So many laughs together. Love to Rob and the family.

I employed Bob as the press officer in the Ministry of Education many years ago after he left RNZ. He was a fantastic colleague; wise, laid back and unflustered, he kept me on an even keel. My thoughts are with Robinne and the family - see you all Thursday.
