Robert BACON Obituary
Peacefully at Selwyn Sprott Village on 6th November 2021. Beloved husband of the late Alison. Loving father of Michael & Nic, Matthew, Andy & Amy. Much loved Popsy to Sophie. Loved by his brothers and sister; Peter & Yvonne, Pauline, Tim; by his in-laws Paul & Maryke, Graham & Rosemary, the late Lawrence, Peter and Jim; and by his wider family. Robert will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends. The family thanks the team at Selwyn Sprott Village for the care and compassion shown during Robert's time with them. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Selwyn Foundation or Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at the service or online at www.selwynfoundation.org.nz or www.wfa.org.nz. Messages to the Bacon family may be left in Robert's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz or posted c/- PO Box 14-366, Kilbirnie 6241. Robert's Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Worser Bay Boating Club, Karaka Bay Road, Seatoun, on Thursday 11th November at 11.00am, thereafter a private burial. Dear Bacon Boys,
Your father was a man who's memory I will always treasure. Be it cooking the BBQ or forever chasing us to wash sand off our feet. I have so many happy childhood memories, to be honest, of both your parents.
Eventually though the inevitable comes to us all & I share my condolences but also my thanks. For Robert played a hugely positive role in my happy childhood & also gave wise counsel in a sometimes turbulent adolescence. Gone but never forgotten.

Sad to hear of Bob's passing. Have great memories of freedom camping around East Cape circa 1967. Bob packed his slippers!

I remember Robert from Worser bay school. What a nice friend he was, sad for his family. June Alexander ( nee Standen )
