My memories of Raymond Boyce go back to the 1970s . He was the designer and director of operas with the New Opera Company of Wellington in which I was a singer. This opera company performed eight operas in four years, in Wellington and also toured to New Plymouth and Napier. Raymond's costume designs and sets, plus his work as Director were very special. I then worked with him again in the 1980s as Production Secretary for the Wellington City Opera. His work again included both Design and Direction. He was a very special man and had a huge knowledge of the theatre. Loretta Lander
