Rachel was my beloved Godmother. She made me feel special growing up, even when we lived in different cities. And she always kept in touch after I grew up. I will miss her, especially not getting the chance to reconnect in person. Condolences to her Basil and all her other loved ones. Kind regards. Nicola Adamson, née Ogier

Dear Basil, Tim, Donna, Neil and all Rachael's family.
I was very shocked to hear the news of Rachael's death yesterday - I sent a message to Tim via FB but found this link today.

I last had lunch with Rachael about a year ago -and sadly have not seen her since. I remember well her 70th with all of you present!

I was coming up Bowen St into Tinakori Rd around 7.10 the night she/they were hurt. I counted 12 police cars and two ambulances and thought there'd been an incidence at the Sprig and Fern!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your lovely sister, sister-in-law, aunt and wonderful friend. I worked at American Express with Rachael from 1981 - to October '85 until the birth of my son. I was around when she met Basil, and she was an incredibly kind and generous person in my life for the rest of the 80's and 90's, spending lots of enjoyable hours with our family. We lost intimate contact when they went to the UK but we kept in touch meeting from time to time for a wine or lunch.

She had a beautiful heart and did so much for her community.

I presume Basil was the other person involved - I hope he is OK?

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy at this very sad time. You must all have had a very tough two weeks. Sending love and kind wishes to you all.

Please keep me in the loop when you arrange her memorial.
Thank you.
