SHEARER, Peter George.- Born 8 February 1930 in Napier. Passed away peacefully on 7 May 2014, aged 84. Loving & loved husband of the late Joyce Jean Shearer (nee Craig). Father to Peter & Susana, Roger & Cathy, and Penny. Grandfather of Jessica, Ellie, Mariana, Ini, Perdy, Jake and Tattie. Missionary, librarian, scholar, friend. "What the heart has once had it can never lose." Thanks to staff at Selwyn Heights Retirement Village, Mount Roskill. Funeral to be held at Ponsonby Baptist Church, 43 Jervois Rd at 1pm on Wednesday 14 May. No black dress please. In lieu of flowers a donation to Orakei Primary School Library.

I remember Peter as a very kind, good humoured and generous man when he worked at the Auckland Public Library, and I remember his great love of P.G. Wodehouse. Best wishes and condolescences to all the family.
