I only heard of Pete's passing last week through Megan Pyott. He was our player/coach at Napier Boy's High soccer team back in 1977 and a great motivator and mentor. The way Pete was, it was like he was one of us really - totally relatable and down to earth. My sincere condolences to Myn and your family.

Pete was our son Ronnie Cornish's football coach. Ron chose to go to Napier Boys High so he could train under Pete. John and I are devastated to hear of Pete passing and send our love and sympathy to Myn Peter Sarah and Kaylah. Myn and the children came to all the games along with the parents of the players, so we got to know them well over those early years, Kaylah was only a baby/toddler at the time. Rest in peace Pete and love and sympathy to Myn Peter Sarah and Kaylah
