Peter John MACDONALD

Peter MACDONALD Obituary

Of Upper Hutt, formerly of Stornoway, Scotland, passed away peacefully at Hutt Hospital on 26 May 2024, aged 59. Loved brother of Allan John (Texas), Iain, Robert and Mairie and their families (Scotland), also by Uncle Alistair (Scotland), and cousins Allan & Phyllis (New Zealand). Will be missed by all of his friends from the Wellington Football Referees Association and The Masonic Lodge. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at both Wellington and Hutt Hospital for their excellent care shown to Peter. A celebration of Peter's life will be held in Kingswood, Cnr King & Cairo Street, Upper Hutt, on Friday, 31 May 2024 at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation.

OMG I was so upset to hear you had left us. I was even more upset that I missed your passing and funeral as I was struck down with covid. Your friendship, support and laugher were just the tonic. My son gave you the nickname of "chicken peter" and it stuck, he was also upset at your passing as we would have loved to have been there. I know you will be having a wee dram up there and discussing the finer points of football. Fly high my friend

My condolences go out to family and friends, what a huge loss!
Peter was a big part of our days at the Open Polytechnic, not a day went past without hearing his joking, laughter and high spirited antics.
When you heard Peter singing in the morning you knew it was going to be a great day.
We miss him massively at work, and I cannot imagine the loss you are feeling.
