Peter CORRIGAN Obituary
Died peacefully on 26 September 2021, after a short illness, aged 83. Much loved husband of Helen and father of James, Mary, Michael, Trish and Rachel. Treasured father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. A life well lived, Peter was a Teacher and Educator, Actor and Football Coach, as well as being a JP he was heavily involved as a Leader in the local community. Special thanks to the staff at Mary Potter Hospice for their care of Peter in his last days. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Mary Potter Hospice would be appreciated and may be made online at www.marypotter.org.nz If you wish to leave a tribute or message for Peter's family, you may do so in his online tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz At the request of the family a small private service will be held.

Was saddened to hear of Peter's passing. Will always remember him as head of the happy gang of teacher's at St Benedict's Khandallah WE certainly had our ups and downs but his understanding, thoughfulness and approachability got us through. My prayers and sympathy are with you Helen and your family at this sad time

Ray and I are very sad to learn of Peter's passing. During those days as a 'back neighbour' in Standen and Nottingham Streets, we soon appreciated his wit, sincerity and kindness. Our sympathies to Helen and all the family.

Peter was an excellent teacher and a very nice person. I enjoyed working with him at Brandon Intermediate school and am so sorry to read of his passing. My sympathy to his family.

Mr Corrigan was a much-loved principal of St Benedicts primary in Khandallah. I have fond memories of his kindness and humour. He was very relatable and felt like our friend rather than an aloof principal. Got to see him when i was an adult and he was still the same, kind-hearted and dynamic. RIP Mr C and deepest sympathies to the family and to friends.

Peter (Mr Corrigan to us students) was my room teacher at Karori Normal School in the late 1960s, I have nothing but fond memories of him, he was one of the best. My prayers are with his family. RIP Mr Corrigan
