Lesley and family
Peter was an honourable public servant and a wise Chair of our Wellington Conservation Board. I have many fond memories of my work for and with him in conservation.
I hope your memories bring you comfort and peace with his passing.

Condolences on the loss of "Uncle Peter". I am sure him and dad are together again looking down on us all. We remember with great fondness our time together as kids visiting the Bygate's in Lower Hutt and Hawkes Bay. We remember Uncle Peter tinkling away on the piano, and one day I intend riding through the old Napier-Taupo road to see if our names are still visible carved (or painted, the memory is not that great) into the roadside cutting.
Moving on a few decades Uncle Peter and Lesley were a great support to Anna our daughter as she started uni life in Wellington. I think there were a few hours spent helping out with architectural modelling assignments supplying the technical guidance and tools! It was a great weight off our mind knowing you were both there for Anna if she needed anything.
I am sure you will have your own great memories and trust these will provide you all peace and comfort at this time.
Arohanui,

Peter has been a great mate since we first met on the shores of Lake Taupo in Whanganui Bay in the late 1970's when I was lucky enough to have been invited to join 6 others in this group.
He was something of an older statesmen always ready to listen and give advice.
Thank you Peter for so many great times together and on special occasions shared with our wives/partners. You will be missed by all of us.
My condolences to Leslie and to Peter's family.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to Lesley and the entire Family. My heart broke off a little piece as it went with Peter when he crossed thru that thin veil, where I am sure my hubby, Arthur would have been awaiting, like so many others in the Spirit World.
I miss my chats with Pete, he has been a strong influence and someone that I looked up to in my life over the past 35 years. I am forever grateful for Universe connecting us all those years ago at Department of Conservation. He is certainly a gem and inspiration. He always had a way to make you feel special in his life.
He will be sadly missed. He is now forever an angel, his spirit free to soar and roam and be by everyone's side! As I close my eyes, I remember all the wonderful memories, visits and conversations, he will continue to live on in my heart.
Love you Peter. And hugs to Lesley and Family.
Lots of Love Sharon

Peter was a great mate for many years. We both saved each others life on a trip into the Kaipo River. I pulled Peter out of the river with a large pack and he rescued me on a shingle slide that dropped over a bluff after I endeavoured to retrieve a deer. I will miss him dearly. We first met when we both appeared on a panel discussion for the Matua School in 1967. I asked him whether he was interested in hunting and his eyes bulged like organ stops - he was so excited. He was part of a fishing group that fished Whanganui Bay for over 50 years and we all became the greatest of mates. My sincere condolences to Lesley, Jaylene, Ray and Daniel.
