Perry JOE Obituary
JOE, Perry 'Chok Lam'.
Passed away peacefully, aged 91 years, surrounded by his family at Wellington Hospital on Tuesday 30th May 2023. Beloved husband of Shun Hing, Baba of Catherine, Selina, Beverley, and Cliff, father-in-law of Cory, Keith and Alexandra. Goong-Goong and Ye-Ye to Josie, Perry Jnr and Nina. Perry was much loved and will be dearly missed by all. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday 9th June 2023, commencing at 11.00am at Whenua Tapu Chapel, 293 Airlie Road, Pukerua Bay, Porirua. Messages to the Joe family may be sent to [email protected] or PO Box 37869, Parnell, Auckland 1052. The family wish to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Wellington Hospital, Wellington Free Ambulance, Mary Potter Hospice and supporting services for Perry's excellent care. Dear Mrs Joe and Family,
Please accept my sincere condolences.
My thoughts have been with you all over the past few weeks, and I have very fond memories of Mr Joe, always smiling, with a cheerful greeting and such a lovely personality, always busy but never too busy to chat to his customers and friends that came into your shop.
Mr & Mrs Joes Fruit shop, an iconic part of Titahi Bay, a shop well known and loved by the locals and regulars, a place that was a true family business, and a place where Mr Joe helped and encouraged local school students when they worked in your fruit shop.
It was a real pleasure for me getting to know Mr Joe.
