My dearest "Auntie" Penny. I met you when I was only 5 years of age as you were a neighbour my mother befriended. I do still remember you taking me to school with Antonia. You remained friends with Mum for all those years. I was so happy to have had both John and Penny attend my wedding many years later. It was fitting, that Mum's oldest and dearest friend attend with her husband. To John, Antonia and Natasha, I offer my sincere and deepest condolences. I have not and never will forget her smile, and warm caring personality. Rest in Peace sweet lady.

I always had a huge admiration for Penny, she was someone who could do anything. I remember eating steak Diane in Kingston at the family dinner table and was made very welcome. How anyone could be a school principal is beyond me, and yet Penny still made time for community commitments! Sending aroha to Penny's family, especially Antonia and Natasha.

Great memories of teaching with Penny and Jennie Woodill in the late 70's - early 80's. Penny was the leader of our Junior Syndicate at Ridgway School. We worked down at Kingston Base Camp school while Ridgway was being remodelled into a new modern "open plan" learning space. Penny taught the New Entrants and had a lovely big sunny room with a big wooden sliding door. We celebrated weddings as it was the year when Princess Di married Prince Charles!! Lots of fun. We taught swimming lessons to our classes in the outside pool there. Brrrrrrrrrr!! Thinking of you John, Antonia and
Natasha. From Phillippa Brosnahan (nee Mitchell)

Sorry to hear of your passing Penny. My condolences to the family. Thank you for your time at Citizens Advice Bureau and allowing me to bring my baby son in while I was on a shift back in the 90's. Rest in peace.

Dear Penny, the memories are many and so important to a "Dutch import". I needed to make a history in my new country and you helped me with that in so many ways. I remember the 2 of us sitting on wee kids chairs when we became members of the kindergarten committee, not our scene, was it? I was honored to be able to look after your children, especially your sweet son. I enjoyed the visits from John and you in my home in Paraparaumu and now you are gone.... You were special in my life sweety, thank you. Maria XXX
