Dear Susan, Flora and Peter, and Pauline's children and grandchildren. I was saddened to learn that Pauline has passed away. I have fond memories of Pauline's kindness to me when I was a little girl at Poroutawhao School. The Bartholomew family were part of a community that cared about others. You all played an intricate role in our community helping build resilience and confidence in the children at Poroutawhao School. I remember your Mother, Pauline and Susan as girl guide leaders who lead us on adventures and kept us safe. I remember Pauline sticking up for me once, as a little girl who was 4 years younger on the bus, having an older girl speak on her behalf was awe inspiring and comforting. I send you all my love and I am thinking of Pauline and all the wonderful things she stood for. With love to you all Vanessa Ransom

So sad to hear Pauline has passed away. We first met on AFS in 1975 and both went to Missouri which created a lifelong bond. She welcomed our family warmly on the few occasions we were luck enough to visit Pongaroa. She will be missed greatly.

I was incredibly sad to hear that Pauline had passed away. I had the pleasure of knowing Pauline and the Bartholomew family since I became friends with Flora on our first day in the 3rd form at Horowhenua College and I have many lovely memories of gatherings at the Bartholomew homestead as a teenager. I met Pauline again when my parents Stuart and Dolly were living in Pongaroa following their retirement and had many lovely conversations with her
about life and the joys of raising children. I know she was a wonderful and much loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and member of the Pongaroa community and I am sure she will be sadly missed by her children and grandchildren and Susan, Flora and Peter and their families. Deepest sympathies to all the family. RIP Pauline.
