Patrick Owen (Pat):
On November 21, 2018. Dearly loved husband of Mary (dec). Very much loved and respected by Geoff & Marie, Collette & Shane and Andrea & Max. Loved grandad of Kylie, Damian, Renee, Aroha, Aiden, and Laura, and great-grandad of Kyra, Alani, Jacinta, Brooke, Max, Jaya, Levi, Darius, Manea, Jarvis & Maddie. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Kapiti Catholic Church Rebuild Fund will be appreciated and may be left at the service. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Parata Street, Waikanae, on Monday 26 November 2018 at 11.00am, followed by interment at the Waikanae Cemetery.

Pat taught senior classes at St Bernard's in the early 1960's. Those of us who benefited from his teaching were profoundly influenced by his dediction to students, love of learning, breadth of knowledge, and good humour. I was later priviledged to teach alongside him at St Paul's and St John's Colleges. I came to know Pat in his humanity as he resolved issues regarding our need for love and companionship with a deep religious faith. He was so greatly loved and will be so greatly missed.

The Marist Brothers of New Zealand remember the fine companionship, teaching and leadership of Pat in Invercargill, Hamilton and Auckland,as well as his authorship of the first history of the Marist Brothers in NZ and the Pacific. R.I.P.
