Owen SANDERS Obituary

SANDERS, Owen Raymond. - On April 26th, 2014 at Christchurch Hospital, loved husband of Barbara, loved father of Adrian and Heidi, Alex, Edward and Meredith, Julia and Alastair and Tessa loved Grandad of Ellen, Liam and Joshua and loved brother of Murray, Marian and Tony Marsh and Lynda. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the North Canterbury Music Academy at the service. A service to celebrate Owen's life will be held at the Trinity Methodist Church, King Street, Rangiora on Thursday, 1st May 2014 at 1.30pm. Owen: an absolute commitment and passion to Police and the LREP / YES section that rendered NZ Police the highest accolades and teaching standards as recognised internationally. A true professional in every sense who will be sadly missed by all Police education officers past and present.
Looking back Owen was ahead of his time as he promoted Prevention first and personal responsibility /safety striving to ensure safer communities and personal accountability.

Owen: A man with a great gentleness towards people and a genuine commitment to making the lives of all young New Zealander's safer.
Owen could move an audience to tears with his discourses on child abuse and the need for all New Zealander's to take an active role in protecting our youth. He will be sadly missed by the Police LREP / YES / SCO teams, he was an inspiration to a generation of Educationists. Taking a train trip will always bring back fond memories of Owen in his prime.
