My sincere condolences to the Prior family on Owen's recent passing. I have some happy memories from long ago of times at Otago University / Mellor House / Arana Hall when my late husband Kingsley met Owen and developed a friendship that lasted a lifetime. Blessings to you all.

Our family all have many memories of Dr Prior - from Dad´s stories of his chats with Owen when Dad was working for him, to our wonderful family holidays at the Priors bach at Mataikona. Thanks for allowing us Newland kids to have such great freedoms in our childhoods at Mataikona - so many happy memories. My thoughts are with you all. In sympathy, Val Burns (née Newland) Kinloch, Taupo

Sincere sympathies to you all. Owen was a great friend to our Mum, Elaine and especially our Dad, Ken Masters. Their cricket stories never grew old, nor their tales of their days at Wairarapa College. A great innings! Kindest regards,
Jenni, Jonathan, David and Fiona Masters

Dr Prior was our neighbor in Renall street many years ago. He bought us jam when our first son was born. A lovely person and true gentleman. Kerry wilkin and Sonja Zydenbos Blenheim

I have very fond memories of Owen and sorry to hear of his passing. Over 40 years ago (!) he very generously allowed me to live at 84 Cole St with him (and Helen when she was in town). Perhaps the fence I see online is still the one we spent some time repairing with a retired builder/patient of his?
Owen and I would often sneak in an evening game of pool before he headed to the hospital and I had a band rehearsal in the lounge.
I think he taught me to back a trailer... he was a master of it!
A greatly loved and respected man and it was an honour to know him.
I´m deeply thankful for that time and for the generosity and grace extended by him and the whole family. Jane & Murray and Anna - thinking of you at this time. Love, Andrew Naylor.
