Nancy UNDERWOOD Obituary
Carruthers (nee Nicholson):
Passed away peacefully at home in New Plymouth, on June 24, 2023, aged 100 years, formerly of Inglewood. Dearly loved wife of the late H J (Jack) Underwood. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Stephen and Frances (Wellington), Margaret and Jim (New Plymouth), Alistair and Martine (Sydney), grandmother and great-grandmother of Caroline, Zeki and Zoë (Berlin), Amy, Nick and Amaia (San Sebastian) and Andrew and Courtney (Porto). Stepmother to the late John Underwood, the late David Underwood, the late Chrystal Fry, and Louise Morley and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to their children and grandchildren. Sister of Colin, Jean and Noel (all dec) and loved Aunty to Colin's children. Grateful thanks to all Nancy's carers, the staff of Hospice Taranaki and special thanks to Pamela Underwood for her love and care for Nancy over recent years. Messages to Nancy's family may be left c/- Vospers Funeral Services, 257 Devon Street East, New Plymouth 4310. In lieu of flowers a donation to Hospice Taranaki would be appreciated to support its wonderful work. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 10.30am, on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the Hobson Room, Plymouth International, 220 Courtenay Street, New Plymouth.

My deepest sympathy to the family, what a great age .I worked in the Underwood Engineering office (was the pool table room) for 2 years, met Nancy's mum several times also. My husband Evan attended Ascot on a Wednesday with Nancy.
