My deepest sympathies to you all.
I came to know Myrtle through my then husband Michael 40 years ago. As I was only 19 I found Myrtle to be quite formidable. At this time her and Pat were living in Whitby.
Michael and I became an extended part of the Clarke family. When our 2 girls were born Myrtle was always generous with gifts for their birthdays and Xmas. She never forgot my birthday...always with a card or phone call.
Sadly over the last few years we didn't have contact. But last year my daughter Danielle reconnected that contact by visiting her.
I was fortunate to talk to Myrtle by ph a week before she passed.
I'm so sad that this wonderful lady has gone. But I know shes now in paradise to be with her Lord.
I always remember Myrtle telling me...never spell Christmas with an x as x is the unknown.
I love you Myrtle.

Oh dear Myrtle!! Our condolences to the family.Due to ill health, I am not able to attend the service today.
I have known Myrtle around half my life meeting her in Otaki in 1990. I first met Myrtle at a ladies Bible study called KYB. I was going to the Otaki Baptist Church and I was put in touch with the group who consisted of ladies from the Apostolic Church(I eventually attended Apostolic Church).I learnt a lot of basic Bible knowledge from Myrtle. I remember Myrtle as being very practical with meeeting the needs of others. One time I moved into a very cold house and Mrytle arrived with hotties and elecric blankets for my children. I have never forgotten her kindness. Myrtle's faith never waivered and I always remember her amazing strength when she lost Barbara. "God is Good, all the time and All the time God is good" is something I heard Myrtle say many times. I always remember her getting Pat to church on time when he was in a wheelchair. How she got him down the stairs and into the car, I will never know. Myrtle was always encouraging and always victorious. She was never backwards in coming forward and she called a spade a spade. My husband Colin was assembly leader and later the Pastor of Otaki Apostolic and he remembers Myrtle as one who was serious in her faith and a genuine hugger!! She had a hug like no other! We love you Myrtle!!! We will meet again. Thankyou for your fine example of a life well lived; loving and caring for everyone and setting the bar high by loving our God the way you did. May the peace of God and the Holy Spirit comfort you all. Kind regards, Lorraine and Colin Goulton
