Very sad to learn about Miriama. I have great respect for the quiet leadership role she provided during some complex work on policy and public management problems through the 'eighties and 'nineties, My sympathy to you Andy, Phil and the whanau.

Our sincere condolences Andy to you and your whanau. Miriama will be a great loss to New Zealand. She was a wonderful woman and inspired many people. We enjoyed the time we have spent with you both through our mutual friends Penny and Steve. You are in our thoughts.

Fond memories of the sixties with Dick, Miri and Andrew. A few beers at the "dirty duck" and hockey played in "wonderful" ChCh winters. Kia Kaha Andy!

Andrew, you and Miriama were fondly remembered students from my English classes at Linwood High School. I learned a lot about Maori/Pakeha relations from her. It is nice to read now what your friendship led to, and I am sure you and your family will miss her terribly. Best regards to you and to your brother, Pat.
