GIBBS, Michael David (Mike):
Of Mosgiel, formerly of Wellington Peacefully on Monday, 28 March 2016, at the Otago Community Hospice aged 80 years. Much loved husband of Alison. Dearly loved father and father in law of Terry and Wendy (UK), Adam (Wellington), and Rachel and Ben Brown (Wellington). Loved Grandfather of Michael, and Nicholas; Joe, Jessie, and Arlo. Loved brother and brother in law of Rodd and Gillian Gibbs (Auckland). In lieu of flowers donations to the Otago Community Hospice may be forwarded to 293 North Road Dunedin 9010 which would be very much appreciated. At Mike's request a private service has been held. Messages to 34 Lanark Street Mosgiel 9024

Much loved trumpet teacher! I now teach trumpet at SMMC and although I didn't know him very well, the kids who had him 2 years ago still quote him with every lesson. A favourite quote is 'pretend to play in orchestra and everyone will think you're brilliant!' He had a great impact!
