Maurice COTTERILL Obituary

Of Levin and Silverdale Knitwear, peacefully on 22 July 2024, at Millvale House, following a long illness, aged 83 years. Dearly loved husband of Jill for 61 years. Loving father of Joanne and Rob Van Der Fits, Warren and Teresa, Megan and Brendon Fowler. Loved grandad of Jackson, Hunter, Ellis, Liam, Libby, Cooper, Riley and Quinn. Loved great grandad of Luca. Many thanks to all the staff of Millvale for their care of Maurice. A funeral mass for Maurice will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Wereroa Road, Levin on Friday 26 July at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation.

Our thoughts are with the Cotterell family. Maurice was such a lovely person & always had a big smile.
My father Ross Whelan was a friend of Maurice´s from Levin days. We remember fondly Maurice & the Wanderers Cricket team calling to see us each year in Wanganui on their way home from Taranaki.

Jill, So sorry to hear of Maurice's death. It seems like only yesterday that Gordon was either at Cotterills or Maurice was at our place in our young days. What a friendship those two had from their first day at St Joseph's primary school holding each others hand (so the story goes). My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Helen Ryder-Goodman
