Of Miramar, Wellington. Peacefully on 9 April 2018. Dearly loved husband of Margaret (dec). Much loved father of Carolyn, Peter, Mary and Gerard. Proud grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. In lieu of flowers, donations for The Blind Foundation, 121 Adelaide Road, Newtown, Wellington 6021, would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages for 'The Family of Matthew Scott' may be sent c/- PO Box 4210, Mount Maunganui South, Tauranga. A farewell for Matthew will be held in the Main Crematorium Chapel, Rosehaugh Avenue, Karori, Wellington, on Monday 16 April 2018 at 11.00am.

A light went out. Matt, who for so many years was the most special man in my world. Matt, you taught me so much. To accept the unacceptable, to lean forward when pulled and back when pushed.. do not resist as it creates further resistance. You understood me and loved when others did not. It is rare to find someone who fills a part of your soul and teaches you, love is not about a feeling but how strong it makes your heart and mind. You strengthened mind. you will always be a part of me. Thank you for being . x
