Matthew Bruce (Blocker):
It's with great sadness we need to announce that Matt passed away on Friday 10th February 2023 after a short illness in Wellington Hospital, aged 52 years. If you knew his humour he would want you to think he died in excruciating pain on the toilet, however it was actually peacefully surrounded by his family, but don't let the truth get in the way of a good story. He is the dearly loved husband and soulmate of Fiona, and immensely proud father of Bianca (deceased), Bradley, and Kaitlyn. Our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Wellington Hospital, with a special thanks to Amy and Tom. Messages and tributes can be left in Matt's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz, details to live stream the service can also be found here. A celebration of Matt's life will held at The Pines, 50 The Esplanade, Houghton Bay, on Friday 17th February, at 11.00am, followed by a private cremation.

Dear Fi and kids (adults)
Big lose in your life and mine. Truly a great man. Sorry I can not be there but I am unwell and in these crazy times felt I best stay home.
Hope you celebrate a top notch block.

1986 Matthew and I were in the Rongotai College Cadet Unit. Mathew was my Platoon Sergeant and well respected by his peers.
He had a very jovial manner when addressing the cadets under his command.
He will be remembered with found memories.
