SCHAFER,
Mary Alice (nee Gabriel):

Of Lower Hutt, born 21 February 1933. Peacefully left this world at Carter House Lifecare & Village in Te Puke on 1 February 2023. Beloved wife of the late Gustav (Gus) John Schafer, and now they are together again. Loved mum to Joy, Helen and Maddy, and we are grateful. Loved Aunty to Mary-Anne and Rhyn (children of late brother John Gabriel) and Alison, Claire, Philip and Michael (children of late brother William (Bill) Gabriel). Loved Granny to Graeme and Lance (children of Helen). In lieu of flowers you can plant a permanent memory of Mary by making a donation to https://grow.treesthatcount.co.nz/fund/trees/. An informal family gathering will take place in Papamoa Beach on Saturday 11 February and Mary's ashes will be scattered at dawn on Sunday 12. For details email [email protected].

The Schafer house, somewhat enlarged, on Pomare Road has been our much loved home for 12 years! We hope they would be pleased at how it has fared and we do think of them. Condolences to the family
