Born August 6, 1941, in Illinois, USA. Died on 29 May 2022, in Wellington. Much loved mother of Helen and Paul and mother-in-law of Grant and Karina. Cherished grandmother of Reuben, Austen and Lewis. She will be missed. A private service was held yesterday.

To Mary's family I offer my sympathy. I got to know Mary back in the 1970s when my family moved to the Hutt and I was delighted to meet such an interesting person. We were both members of the Federation of University Women and we became good friends. Mary had a refreshingly different outlook, not least on cooking. I still have, and bake, recipes that she gave me so she has lived long in my life. We somewhat lost touch after we moved to Wellington and I thought that she was going back to USA after Ian died. It's sad to find that she could have been reached. I wish your families well at this difficult time and I have many happy memories of Mary.
