I am late in posting this, but Mary (Sr Dominic) was my 6th form teacher at St Mary's College in 1964; she had the patience of a saint when it came to teaching me maths. I was at Wellington Airport, with my younger sister who was also taught by her, on the day that Mary was leaving for Peru. She told us that she had always wanted to do missionary work. I've never forgotten her influence from St Mary's and my admiration for her in following her dream.

Condolences to the Sisters of Mercy and Mary's family. I knew Mary for many years and visited her regularly at the Home of Compassion. May she rest in peace.
Love and prayers from Eileen McParland.

Mary was a wonderful cousin, committed religious and true friend. I am forever grateful for her attention to Mum, Trish and myself in our times of need. And she welcomed Jane into the family.
Her work in Peru typified her sense of mission that imbued every aspect of her life.
Our cousin Bernadette has been a tower of strength to Mary in the final years and we the family owe her much.
