I have just heard of Malcolm´s death. I worked with him in a GP surgery in Bedford, England many years ago. He was a caring, compassionate man, proud of his Scottish background (and his kilt), dedicated to good medical practice and friendly and helpful to me (a clerical member of staff). I missed him when he went to New Zealand where he felt that he `could practise medicine as it ought to be practised and where his beloved children could have a healthy, outdoor life´. It is so sad that he has died so young and will be a great loss to his family and the community. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

It is with gratitude that I will remember Malcolm. He had a generous and kind nature that he shared with all of us. He imparted his knowledge with down to earth stories that explained simply what we needed to hear. I thank his family for generously sharing him with us. He is greatly missed. You are in my prayers.

Malcolm was a much-respected colleague. He was diligent, thorough and always showed empathy and compassion for his patients. I had the pleasure of working with him during his many years at Eldon Lodge, where he made an enormous difference to the frail elderly population that he and his close colleague Paul served.
My deepest condolences to his family, friends and all of the people whose lives he touched.
Rest in Peace.

A total shock to read of Malcolm's passing. My condolences to his family as well as to the staff at Coastal Medical Rooms. This quiet, caring, dedicated G.P. will be greatly missed. The care he has given me for the past 14 years has been appreciated - especially in the last 6 months. Sometimes 'thank you' is such a small sentence but it means so much from me.
R.I.P. Malcolm

Malcolm had been our GP ever since he commenced his practice with the partnership at Coastal Medical Rooms.
We will always remember him as not only a really nice guy, but a true professional, and a genuinely caring person. A doctor who was prepared to take the time to explain things in layman's terms.
This often resulted in his appointments running behind schedule, but we never complained! On a few occasions if we had an appointment later in the day I would phone reception and they would be kind enough to inform me how many patients were ahead of me. Being only 5 minutes drive away I could then linger longer at home.
We were deeply saddened to hear of Malcolm's passing and offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, and share the grief of his collegues and friends.

Unfortunately we are unable to attend the service in person as I tested positive for Covid on 15th December, and Nora is potentially at risk by association.

Very very sad to hear of Malcolms passing.
Malcolm was a member of my multisport training squad for many years and a most dedicated trainer over the cycling and running disciplines.
Malcolm always gave it his best shot whether it be training or competing.
He was also very surportive to other members of the squad particularly the younger youthful members he provided self assurance to many in the tough moments.
Very dedicated to his family and as well to his many patients he will be sadly missed by the community as a whole.
To die so young when he had so much more to give is so sad.
My deepest condolences to Sarah,Naomi, Isaac,Gideon and Joshua.
RIP Malcolm

To the Dyer family

Malcolm was my doctor for many years and I have to let you all know know how highly I thought of him. He would be the most caring, kind and thoughtful doctor I have ever had and in recent years, with serious health issues he has been a great comfort, always going more than that extra mile. I, and I'm sure all his patients will miss him a lot.

Kindest regards and deepest sympathy

It seems Malcolm was known for his thorough (sometimes exhaustive) approach to primary care, and the warmth he brought to it. Our family have been so grateful for exactly this over the past five years since we moved to Paraparaumu. In particular, he cared for our children through their earliest years, retaining that warmth even when they were screaming their opposition to the consultation. They have little fear of going to the doctor now and while the whole Coastal Medical Rooms team can take the credit for that, Malcolm deserves the bulk of it. A wonderful person, gone too soon.

From the Dench/Haszard Morris family, thank you for everything and deepest condolences to Malcolm's family, friends and colleagues.
