Lester REID Obituary
Dearly beloved husband and companion of Marion; cherished father of Geoffrey, Susan, Malcolm and Catherine; precious Grandad of Amy, Joseph and Hayley; peacefully passed in his 90th year on 27 October 2017. A service will be held at St Mark's Church, 58 Woburn Road, Lower Hutt on Wednesday 1 November at 11.30am. Donations in appreciation of Te Omanga Hospice may be left at the service.

Condolences. I think Lester visited my late husband and myself in Tarawa, in the early 1980s. Norman Healey was a UK United Reformed Church minister working for the Kiribati Protestant Church.

The Rev Lester Reid has been part of my family's story for as long as I can remember. He was our much loved minister in Ngongotaha, where the church was such an important part of our little community. Over the years my mother would remind me that I was the first baby he christened - apparently he was worried he might drop me! I remember a special person - someone who not only took the Sunday service, but was an everyday friend to my parents.They loved and respected him.
