Kevin VAN SOEST Obituary
Of Raumati South, formerly of Pukerua Bay. Passed away unexpectedly on Monday 22 April 2019, surrounded by the love of his family. Aged 55 years. Much loved son of Margaret and Fred. Lifelong best friend and soulmate of Paula. Idolised by son and best mate Luke and Daddy's Little Girl Ellie, and loved by his future daughter-in-law Aimee. Will be loved and missed by his siblings, and the wider extended family. Thanks to all for the support given to Kevin and his family over the last few days. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kevin's memory for the Life Flight Trust would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Following a private cremation, a celebration of Kevin's life will be held in the Otaihanga Boating Club, 19 Makora Road, Otaihanga, on Friday 26 April 2019 at 2.30pm.

Condolences to Kevin's family. I grew up in Pukerua Bay and lived nearby. Went to the same school as Kevin and his older brother Ernest who was friends with me. We went through scouts and venturers together. Cheers from the Doyle family.

Shocked to hear today of Kevin's passing,sincere condolences to family and friends,we attended Kapiti College together and started our apprenticeships on the same day at William Cable Ltd 1981,good times that will never be forgotten,Gods speed mate.

Having been best-friends with Ellie since I was a toddler, I will always remember Kevin as the loving family-man who welcomed me into his home, always. My fondest memory was him pushing me and Ellie down a (very scarily high at the time) flying-fox he built for all of us kids to play on. He will be terribly missed by all, but remembered so highly. My family sends all the love and support to Paula, Luke and Ellie.

I joined Axiom Hydraulics in 2017 where Kevin was the workshop manager. He immediately made me feel welcome.
He sometimes called me Betty as he said I reminded him of a good family friend. I took that as a compliment.
Kevin was a warm, caring & vibrant man who always talked about his lovely family with such love and pride.
My thoughts are with you all❤❤
