MEARS, Fr Kevin Francis SM:
On December 24th, 2016 peacefully at Kaikoura Hospital. Respected confrere of the Society of Mary, Marists. Dearly loved Son of the late Jack and Jane. Loved brother of Margaret, Terry, Michael, Hugh and the late June, John, Jim, Philip, and Patricia. Requiem Mass for Fr Kevin will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Hill Street, Thorndon on Thursday, December 29th 2016, at 11.00am followed by interment at the Makara cemetery. A Vigil service will be held in Church on Wednesday evening at 7.00pm.

Fondest memories of our dear friend Father Kevin. We will always remember the good times with you since our first meeting in Samoa, 1977. Your energy, stamina and faith was never ending. A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul rose to heaven closer to God. When we lose a loved one here on earth we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us.
