Condolenes to the family.
Syd squidly didly was a great mate of mine we meet at marist soccer I travels around the bottom of the South Island for two weeks back in 1970s.
We had a great time drive skippers canon after woulds we read conditions of the rental agrement that was not allowed. we just laughted it off.
have not seen him for some time as my travels to wgtn are not that offen.
i had a lot of good times with him he was a funny guy,and a friend RIP,Syd

I had a lot of laughs with Syd .I first met Syd back in the days of the Marist softball club at King street Newtown.
There were great friendships forged which have lasted the distance of time and Syd was one of those people.
Thanks for your friendship and laughs Syd, safe travels mate.

My condolences to the family on your sad loss.

Syd and I go back probably to the late 60s when our group left St Pats and started playing football for Marist AFC....continuing right up to the Golden Oldies . In the off season we all played for the Wellington Marist Softball club and Syd went on later to become a very respected Softball umpire. This was a very special time and as such has left us with lasting memories for all of us.... and I am grateful that we have all remained great friends to this day. Having moved up the coast I havent caught up with Syd for a few years but whenever we did it was just like yesterday. Syd was a good bloke who has gone to early.... and so will be missed by many. RIP old mate ....
