On 1 April 2022 at Winara Care Home, Waikanae, aged 97. Adored wife of Desmond for 76 very happy years. Much loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Kaye (Tawa) and Gary Lange, Lynne Spellerberg (Paraparaumu Beach), Leigh and David Nichols (Raumati), Anne Spellerberg (Paraparaumu Beach) and the late Tony Franklin. Treasured Nana and Nanny of her 10 grandchildren and her many great-grandchildren. Loved sister of Jack and Ross Morgan (both deceased), and Barbara Johnson (Palmerston North). Grateful thanks and respect to the Nurse Maude carers (and, before them, Access) who enabled Kathleen and Des to stay at home for so many years. Thanks also to the Tawa Medical Centre, Kenepuru Hospital staff, staff on Wards 3 and 5 South at Wellington Hospital, District Health Nurses and, most recently, Winara staff, who all cared for Kathleen so well. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance (wfa.org.nz), who were always there when needed, would be appreciated. A service to celebrate Kathleen's life will be held on Friday 8 April 2022 at Cedarwood, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae, at 11.00am. Messages to the family c/- PO Box 300, Waikanae 5250.
